In Simutrans 0.80.x you can build signals on bridges like in the following image.

It would be an advantage to be an experienced player if you want to build signals on bridges.

Basically you can place signals on bridges in the same way as on flat ground. The fundamentals are described at http://www.simutrans.de/english/simu/simudoc/simdoc.html

There are some restrictions:

  • The underneath of the bridge part on which the signal is going to be built must be free of any obstruction, and must also be flat land, the obstructions include things like rails and depots. Town buildings do not have any effect and can be underneath the bridge.
(People who are quick with the mouse and Simutrans commands will be able to remove the rails and signals under the bridge, build the new signal on the bridge and then restore the original situation of the underlying rails while trains are still running. If there's more than one rail at the position you want to build the signal you will have to remove both!)
  • Important: If you remove something under the bridge, the signal on the bridge is removed, too.

For me as fiercer railway builder it is a welcome feature, which simplifies the control of the traffic :))
